How to write a romantic photo prompt
Most of the prompts on this page are structured JSON blocks, and the settings doing the work are the same four in every one of them. Copy the technique even when you change the scene.
Name one light source and rule out the rest
Each prompt asks for motivated natural light only — golden-hour backlight, midday sun coming off turquoise water, plain moonlight — and explicitly bans flash and fill. Naming a single source is what stops the model from flattening two people into an evenly lit studio portrait.
Pick the focal length that matches the distance
Wide scenes here call for a 35mm equivalent at eye level; the intimate ones switch to 85mm with shallow depth of field and focus held on the eyes. Asking for "85mm, focus on the eyes" gets you a close frame far more reliably than the word "close-up".
Ask for imperfection on purpose
Handheld, imperfect crop, candid documentary feel. A romantic photo reads as staged the moment both faces are centered and level, so these prompts request the small framing errors a real photographer makes while walking into the water after a couple.
Protect the skin and the grade
Real skin texture, no retouch, natural dynamic range rather than HDR, subtle 35mm grain. Plastic skin and an over-warmed orange grade are the two tells that give an AI couple photo away, and both are cheap to prevent in the prompt.
